Well I’ve managed to wrest control of the iPad from Ziggy after his blogging escapade and thought I bring you up-to-date with what Rose and I have been up to.
Feeling a little down after saying goodbye to Frank last Wednesday Rose and I had the perfect pick-me-up. We had a wedding to go to. And a beach wedding at that.
The son and wife-to-be of friends of ours had decided that they would tie the knot on Ambergris Caye and they arrived to find that all arrangements had been taken care of by his mother Connee and step father Bill at Exotic Caye Beach Resort .
Rose and I arrived early – we’d been told that the wedding would start sharply at 15.30 hours . Yeh, right!
“I just need the bride and groom to turn up and I can get this ‘show’ on the road”.
Groom and Best Man. I mean Woman, in place.
Groom’s proud parents make their entrance.
And the bridesmaid (daughter of the bride) too.
And (at last) the Bride with her son to ‘give’ her away.
Time for the ceremony to begin.
Husband and Wife.
Time for the first dance.
And then the proud parents shared the ‘dance floor ‘ with the newly weds .
Dancing not for you?
Well there’s always a slice of cake!
Now I don’t think even the most blinkered of people that know me would say that I’m a sentimentalist or a romantic but even I have to admit that there’s something about a white wedding. Especially when it’s on a beach on Ambergris Caye.
Unfortunately Ziggy wasn’t included in the wedding invitation but he quickly got over his disappointment when Rose and I took him out on Sunday and he got to meet a big fan of his. Jenny Bryan from Michigan.
As soon as Jenny arrived at Carlo & Ernie’s Runway Bar & Grill she recognised Ziggy and came over and introduced herself. Ziggy though wasn’t his normal placid and friendly self. He growled at her. Maybe he hadn’t gotten over the disappointment of not being invited to the wedding!
Jenny though persevered and (with the aid of a treat) eventually won him over.
A cold and aloof Ziggy.
One treat later. So easily persuaded !
Seriously though Jenny it was good to meet you. And you win Ziggy over with her patently obvious love of dogs.
The headline for today’s edition is based on the single released in 1982 by Billy Idol which reached number six on the UK Singles Chart and number thirty-six on the US Billboard Hot 100.
John, have you run out of coffee or topics to discuss? Did Ziggy hide your computer? Is everything OK?
Hi Susan. Alls fine but thanks for your concern. Just haven’t had anything that I thought was worth sharing. I’ll try to think of something soon though!
Ok, I was just getting a bit worried about you. Glad all is well.
We aloped almost 40yrs ago. Saved a lot of moolah $$$. Bride looks very Happy.
We had a very quite wedding too Kathy. Used the money saved to pay down the mortgage. One day off for me and in work on the Sunday!
I’m famous now! Haha! It was such a pleasure meeting you! Hope to see you again! Hugs, Jenny
And it was a pleasure for all 3 of us to meet you Jenny. Until next time.

I love a simple wedding like that! Thanks for sharing with us.
Looks like it was A Nice Day For A White Wedding.
Were you singing that as you typed it Wes?
